"I Just Can't" a poem

I Just Can’t

I love sitting in the sun,

My chair so hot, scorching,

Just shaved legs cool and buttery,

Me, drowsy, in the toasty heat,

Trying not to think about the day's end,

I wish someone was here to talk to,

My mother and her cutting ways,

Oh, to leave her life and live,

No roots, no ties, just freedom,

Decaying family gone,

I wish I could share what it’s like,

But I can’t.

I just can't
